Literature Text

This twisted lie of mine is fame for you.
My hopelessness is a game for you.

You've left me, abandoned me here.
Promising to save me, I took the blame for you.

This dark, dank prison cell is now my home.
Here, I rot; feeling your shame for you.

Years have past and I am finally free.
No more rotting in a hellish flame for you.

My heart has blackened, my hatred most pure.
I am Carrie, and I'm going to raise all hell, just for you.
Well, I'm in a class. It's a Writers Workshop. In said class, we write poems and stories and such. I've decided that I'll post the stuff I turn in. This is called a Ghazal. Mine was about a woman who took the blame for her husband and was sent to prison. She gets out many years later and decides to raise all hell. I don't get Ghazals....

Really nice work on this poem, I like how it's written a lot! It definitely shows a lot of emotion, too.
